Meyersdal Crest

Homeowners Association

(Association Incorporated under Section 21)

February 2024

February is the second month of the year.

February comes from the Latin Februa, which means “to cleanse”.

February was named after Februalia, the roman festival of purification, which was a month-long festival of purification and atonement that took place this time of the year.

Valentines Day – Valentines commonly depict Cupid, the Roman god of love, along with hearts traditionally the seat of emotion. Because it was thought that the avian mating season begins in mid-February, birds also became a symbol of the day. Traditional gifts include candy and flowers, particularly red roses, a symbol of beauty and love.

Maintenance of Homes – We encourage Residents to maintain their homes by staying on top of routine maintenance and fixing minor problems as they arise and not wait until they pile up. This will help to increase the resale value of your property and the value of other homes in the Estate. In addition to maintaining individual homes, it is also important to maintain the overall standard of our beautiful Estate.

TREES AND FOLIAGE

While trees are generally loved for their beauty, shade, and contribution to fresh air, there are times when trees, branches and dead leaves need to be removed. Trees and foliage can interfere with various things such as our electric fence/s that is imperative for the Security and aesthetics of our Estate.

Maintenance is always open for debate, and we would like to extend a friendly reminder to Residents to maintain their trees by removing the dead leaves, especially off their Palm Trees and cutting back the foliage from the MCHA Electric Fences.

Should you not be able to do it yourself herewith is contact number for a service provider who will be able to assist you. Garden Hands 072 203 3573.
